World Catfish Festival 5K Run/Walk, One Mile Fun Run, April 10, 2010

Mail pre-registration forms to Jessica Sandifer, PO Box 9, Silver City, MS 39166. Race day registration is available and begins at 7 a.m. The 5K Run and Walk starts at 8:00 am and 8:05 am, respectively. Checks can be made payable to the World Catfish Festival.

Parent/guardian must sign for walkers and runners under 18 years of age, and certify that they are adequately trained and fit to participate in this event. A general liability waiver is also required for all participants as well as a release of photographs for publicity purposes.

The World Catfish Festival 5K is a sanctioned event.

Race day registration will begin at 7:00 am at BankPlus. BankPlus address 202 E. Jackson Street, Belzoni, MS 39038.

Packets will be picked up at BankPlus. Mail pre-registration forms to Jessica Sandifer, PO Box 9, Silver City, MS 39166.

Pre-registration forms must be received by April 7, 2010. Race day registration is available.

Checks should be made payable to the World Catfish Festival.

The 5K Run will begin at 8:00 am followed by the 5K Walk at 8:05 am. The Mile Kids Fun Run starts immediately following the 5k Run/Walk. Awards start approximately at 9:30 am. The World Catfish Festival begins at 10:00 am. Stay and enjoy the day!

Race participants will be directed to the starting line. The race start and finish line is located on E. Jackson Street beside BankPlus.

Mile markers will be posted, and the course is marked throughout. The course is very flat. Volunteers will be throughout the course as well. The course begins and ends on E. Jackson Street beside BankPlus.

Special awards will be given to recognize the overall male and female in the 5K Run as well as in the 5K Walk. Age group winners will be given will be awarded in the 5K Run and in the 5K Walk.

All children participating in the mile fun run will be awarded a medal. The top mile fun run participant will receive a trophy. Age group awards will recognize the following age groups: 14-under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-over

T-shirt is guaranteed for all pre-registered participants. Door prizes will be given away to all participants as well. Early bird entry fee is $15.00 for all events and is due by April 7, 2010.

Late registration (after 4/7/10) is $20 for all events.

A water stop will be provided at the halfway mark. Beverages will also be available after the race for race participants.
